East Van

Racoon bite, 2 moves, new studio, new roomies, old friends, new ELYSIUM.
My oh my how things have changed.

So I am in Vancouver, living in a lovely hood with old friends, they run a
record label out of the apt, as well as multi art/talent project.
We are happy to be here, this area feels more close to home for me.
My Mom and her family grew up here, and I remember coming to the ocean
as a wee one.

I got a lovely studio space at the Onion studio in Strathcona, very cool bunch
of artist under this roof!. I have been sewing up a storm and feeling pretty
good. Adjusing to the loudness is at times frustrating, hahah as I write this
a car alarm goes off right out my window!.

Van City..

2 cats, 14 totes,1 table, one laptop all our art supplies.

That's what came in the truck to the coast.
Now same time last year I was in Montreal. I have to say I love it in the west WAY more.
These mountains I was born into call me home every time. The ocean has impacted me so much.
Mark and I have gone to the ocean several times since we moved and find a deep sense of peace there.

Moved back to Vancouver, much better for business than Victoria. Since we have arrived we have had to move again.
Damn slumlords, I scored a rad studio at the Glass onion. 12 working artists..ooolalalalala.

Lots is changing, and not changing. Once again our family is still very sick,we are doing alot of energy work and praying.
Praying to love. I joined my band NUNUN again after 6 years, Mark my hubby has a band here to with my good friend and band member Scotty B.

Since 1998 I have been making movie, all kinds. Since 2000 Neo Classic pictures has been making movies.
Neo classic pictures is made up of a core 5 peeps, and we are back up and running after 6 years. Together we have made
20 films and 2 feature films.
We are slated to film our next movie in December. We are delving into consciousness, dreams, time and reality.......
stay tuned for the premier of our last film THE END OF THE WORLD......LOLOLOL! 20 minute
reality mock trashlove. John Waters would laugh, David Lynch would tap his toe.........

My animal medicine is changing from owl to raccoon. I GOT BIT BY A COON in the forest! Since then they are at my alley and doorway frequently.......hmmmmm. I spent the last 6 months in the middle of freekin nowhere with Moose, elk, bears eagles
and mountain goats, all fine keeping their own space to getting bit in the inner city<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

OK, as of next week I can walk to my new permanent studio, and I will be online alot more!!!!

OlaLa

Summer!!!!

WOW......

Hmm. Crows fly together.Use tools. They have the most facinating language, schedules, and tools.
Owls seemed to follow us all spring, summer and fall. Trees are VERY loud when they fall in the forest.
Dont walk towards running bears at night while looking for your cats.

This is just a taste of what I have learned on my Hiatus. On this hiatus my hubby broke his ankle.
Enter Nurse Freya. It was a very rough patch but he is walking and doing his martial arts again now!!

Our fathers are ok.....Life is so very interesting. To say the least our time coming back to Nelson
has been painfully beautiful. We lost friends, friends got married,we got honorary Doukhobor status,
helped our family, they helped us. We sat in the forest, swam the rivers, and spent a very slow and
quiet time reflecting on our family, our past and the new, different future.

Now!!!! We are moving away AGAIN!. To an Island......on a coast line in the west............
I am sewing more these days, feeling my groove again. check it out on etsy

Back in Nelson

OH MY GOSH!!

new home!

Mark found a Bees Nest!

OK....Where do I start?
So I have moved back to Nelson BC. My father and my husbands father have fallen ill, and family seemed to
be the most important in our lives. We have found a home in the beautiful Slocan Valley, that we feel we can
nest and create while being close to family when they need us the most.

Yup, it was a tough circumstance, but a easy decision to come home. My new Saga starts May 1st.
I have access to a studio space on the property, and we are also planning to get our selves some
chickens, and goats.

This is the other side of me essentially. Lady of the mountains, hanging with the animals and plants that sustain
us. The city was rad....Inspiring, creative, freeing and of course simulating. My major concerns where the food
and water while living in the heart of Montreal. It was disgusting at times. My hubby and I value food and water
with sacred consciousness and started having interesting conversations about survival, tainted food chain, etc.

I had no idea Dad would fall ill, but somehow the events unfolding matched my intuition with another big change.
It has been a very revealing time in my life. So here comes the creative challenges!!

So we shipped our stuff back on GREYHOUND, and my hubby forgot to insure my sewing machines and my Serger
is smashed. So I am in limbo waiting for this house, new studio, and new serger!! As well as having totes of RAD Montreal
fabric at my fingertips, just waiting for me to cut and drape!!

Weekend in Saint Calixte

I gave in and went for a weekend trip with my hubby Mark and his
bandmate Dominik to his home 1 hour north of Montreal.
The community is called Saint Calixte. It is nestled in the ancient
Laurentian mountains ( very small compared to BC!) on a small
lake. Beautiful maple trees and windy roads that felt familiar.

I had big hopes for meeting some animals, really needed some
creature comfort!
Well that came quick, when Domink showed us his kitties
Bzinga, and La Bzinga. Two little furry lovers. Bzinga did not
come out until sunday, but L a Bzinga and I got pretty
aquainted sleeping and playing together!.

While on a walk to the frozen waterfall, we picked up a friend
The most lovable little grey kitty that followed us around town
and then to the lake, where we had a massive cuddle session!!

RELIEF!!

In other news, my Dad is doing better, he knows he had a huge
wake up call, and plans to take better care. He needs tools to
mend his widowed broken heart!! Much love and support to him!.

Still waiting for Kim, she will be flying here to join the studio
SOON!! She had a very sucsessful art show in Nelson at Oso Negro
cafe, check it out at ifeltfine.blogspot.com
super rad artist, can't wait to play!!

I have 7 new peicesI am putting in the shop tommorow
elysiumdesign.etsy.com, check it out. Spring has sprung!

Where is our minds....

ALL of our empathy to all those affected by the
earthquake in Haiti. We had our own scare as
well. Marks my husbands father had a large
tumor removed from his bladder, and was in the
hospital same night as we found out about the
quake. Thru this shake down I created alot.
I see two distinct lines coming thru.
One is POST, as in post city, post collapse,
post monetary, and the other sheering colour
block geometry.

It has been lovely to allow myself space to create
one of a kind as well as made to order pieces.
I feel it is a good balance for customers and my
own creative wandering.

I feel some really good vibes around me, and
super inspired!
Here is some pics of what I am throwin down!
